Coming Home for Summer

As part of the COAST Festival 2014 artists Stuart Noble, Jon Nicholson and myself collaborated with Macduff Marine Aquarium and pupils from Banff Academy to take part in the Coming Home for Summer project.

We worked closely with Aquarium Learning Officer Sandra Bisset to learn about the surrounding coast and sea life. Specifically researching different migration patterns of birds and sea species. The aim of our project was to create a series of masks and put on a short performance at the aquarium.

Each meeting was filled with positive energy and the project came to life thanks to the enthusiasm and professionalism of the Banff Academy pupils. After weeks of rehearsing, researching, drawing and creating we were ready for the big day!

Check out these photos from the COAST Festival weekend. (Thank you COAST Team for the photos.)

We also created masks onsite with members of the public.

It was great to be part of such a positive team and learn new things. A special thanks to Sandra who offered in depth knowledge and guided tours. If you have not visited the Macduff Aquarium I highly recommend visiting.
